The Mt Kilimanjaro Adventure
Embark on this thrilling adventure and experience the breathtaking beauty of Tanzania. Over 8 days, you will trek with a professional team and other adventurers to Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route – also known as the “Coca-Cola” route.
The trek will take you to the highest peak of Africa, through lush rainforests to alpine moorlands and artic-like summit zones until you reach the Uhuru Peak of Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the world!
This carefully crafted experience includes transfers, accommodation, daily meals and more. We’ve thought of everything so that you can fully immerse yourself in this incredible adventure.
The itinerary
Discover the beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro and conquer this dormant volcano while enjoying the sights of Tanzania. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest volcano in Africa and the Eastern Hemisphere.
During this journey of a lifetime, you’ll pass through lush landscapes, wake to some of the most beautiful sunrises in the world, and experience what is described as the best moonscape as you climb towards the summit.
Day 1: Welcome to Adventure – Kilimanjaro Airport to Mount Meru Hotel
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be whisked away by our driver to the luxurious Mount Meru Hotel.Meet your guide for an exciting briefing and gear check, setting the stage for your epic climb!
Day 2: Trek Begins – Mandara Huts
Drive to Marangu Gate and start your hike through enchanting rainforests to Mandara Hut.Revel in breathtaking views from Maundi Crater and enjoy modern conveniences like running water bathrooms.
Day 3: Ascend to Horombo Huts
Journey through stunning heathland to Horombo Huts, with mesmerizing views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.Experience the beauty of the highland moorland, with comfortable accommodations awaiting your arrival.
Day 4: Acclimatize at Horombo
Spend a day acclimating to the altitude, with options for scenic hikes or relaxation.Explore the area with your guide, preparing for the next phase of your adventure.
Day 5: Horombo to Kibo Huts
Trek through the dramatic landscape, transitioning from heathland to the lunar-like Alpine Desert.Capture the sunrise and brace for the summit climb, while being mindful of your health.
Day 6: Summit Day – Kibo to Uhuru Peak to Horombo
Embark on a midnight hike to Uhuru Peak, reaching the summit by sunrise for an unforgettable experience.Descend to Kibo Hut and Horombo Hut for rest, with the satisfaction of conquering Kilimanjaro.
Day 7: Return to Arusha
Descend through diverse landscapes, from moorland to lush forests, reaching Marangu Gate.Transfer back to the comfort of Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, reflecting on your incredible journey.
Day 8: Farewell or Extend Your Adventure
Depending on your plans, relax at the lodge, explore Arusha, or head to the airport.Optional extensions: a breathtaking Tanzania Safari or a relaxing stay on Zanzibar Island.
