Introducing Kylie, our 11 // Training Camp Minor Prize Female Winner.

Kylie is a mum of 2 and works as a Nurse, and was one of the first to join the recently opened UBX Training in Gladstone.

Having previously trained with friends and co-workers, Kylie said that the accountability was a big part of what kept her going.

After a friend had signed up to UBX Gladstone with her partner, she encouraged Kylie to join ahead of the 11 // Training Camp to complete the challenge together.

TRAINING

What was your approach to the Training?

“I hadn’t trained for a few months prior to the challenge, so I was feeling really unfit. But joining with a friend was great, we challenged each other and pushed one another.

We aimed to go as often as we can, and trained every day.

And then I used Sundays as a rest day, and walked for active recovery.”

NUTRITION

What did your daily nutrition look like?

“I’m a bit of a fussy eater so I mostly used the meal plan as a daily caloric guide.

When I was working I was eating a lot of tuna and vegetables.

I love omelettes, they were such a quick and easy breakfast, especially if I had work, and I’d just add some spinach to get a serve of vegetables.

Basically my main change was just eating cleaner, and more wholefoods.”

MINDSET

Did you make adjustments to prioritise your training?

“I really just wanted to be committed for those 6 weeks and prove to myself that I could do it.

I had a really good support network with my friends because we motivated each other.

But it was basically just to use that 45 minute workout each day for me.”

ADVICE

What advice do you have for other members taking on the Training Camp – 6 week challenge?

“If you put your mind to something, it’s possible; you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Give yourself the best chance to achieve your goals.

I think if you follow an 80/20 rule, you can still participate with life and achieve the goals that you set for yourselves.”
