22 // Training Camp Contenders: Tracy, Gian, and Emily Share Their Inspiring Journeys
May 6, 2025 at 2:40 am by UBXTracy’s Transformation – Age Is Just a Number!

At the age of 52, Tracy is redefining what fitness means. As an active social individual, busy business owner, mother, and proud new nanna, Tracy frequently found reasons to avoid consistent exercise, citing late-night work hours and a general lack of routine. However, a moment of clarity following an eight-week holiday compelled her to make a decisive change.
Two years after initially joining UBX Greensborough as a foundational member, Tracy reached a critical turning point. Her coaches responded swiftly and supportively to her urgent message. Tracy invested two weeks preparing mentally, immersing herself in motivational podcasts, daily meditation, and ensuring she was getting enough sleep.
Her disciplined approach to the training challenge included:
- Sleep: Adhering to a strict bedtime of 9 p.m., eliminating distractions.
- Training: Transitioning from inconsistent independent sessions to regular coached sessions five to six times per week.
- Nutrition: Maintaining a simple, effective diet rich in protein, eliminating alcohol completely, and making strategic food substitutions – including using coconut water in a wine glass to curb cravings.
The outcomes have been remarkable: Tracy has experienced a complete wardrobe change, significantly improved confidence, increased strength, and widespread recognition from others. Her journey underscores the potential for transformation at any age. Her advice? Trust your trainers, track your progress visually, nurture your mental health, and maintain consistency.
Her results:
Body Composition:
- Body Weight – 2.5kg weight loss
- Muscle Mass – 0.4kg muscle mass gain
- Body Fat % – 3.7% body fat decrease
Final Benchmarks:
- 1:20 Row – 341m – (21m improvement)
- 3:00 Push Up into Clean & Press – 45 (15 rep improvement)
- 15 Cal Ski – 79sec (8sec improvement)
Gian’s Journey – Practical Changes for Lasting Health

Since joining UBX Holland Village in July 2023, Gian has prioritised fitness to balance the demands of a busy work schedule. He found the structured and efficient nature of UBX workouts beneficial, removing any uncertainty or hesitation from his routine.
His Training Camp approach included:
- Training: Attending four afternoon sessions a week on a regular basis and maintaining consistency by taking his workout attire to work to prevent the temptation to skip sessions.
- Nutrition: Choosing moderation over drastic change, Gian cut back on alcohol and sugar, lowered portion sizes, added more vegetables, and first measured his food portions to ensure they were accurate.
Post-challenge, Gian reports enhanced energy levels and improved focus, motivated by significant health benefits, particularly given his family’s history of hypertension and diabetes. Despite this, his long-term goal is to maintain consistency and stay active as he gets older to prevent or mitigate the medical conditions he is predisposed to.
“Find an activity to challenge yourself – whether it be a race or competition – and the functional training from UBX workouts will help you accomplish your goals.”
He advises others to view fitness as an essential component for enhancing life’s experiences, asserting that UBX’s training regimen effectively equips participants for physical challenges and adventures beyond the gym. “Find an activity to challenge yourself – whether it be a race or competition – and the functional training from UBX workouts will help you accomplish your goals”, he said.

- Muscle Mass – 0.4kg muscle mass gain
- Body Fat % – 1.7% body fat decrease

Emily’s Empowering Experience – Balancing Motherhood and Fitness Goals

The flexible, no-timetable nature of UBX workouts was perfect for Emily, a busy 37-year-old mother of two small boys, who leads a family-oriented lifestyle. She continued to participate consistently since joining UBX Hopper’s Crossing in August 2022, training during her pregnancy and then starting up again soon after with her youngest son in tow.
Emily stepped up her workouts during the training camp, using heavier weights and a more intense routine overall. In terms of nutrition, her emphasis on meals high in protein encouraged muscle building and prolonged feelings of fullness.
Emily experienced significant improvements, including feeling more energised, having more confidence, and seeing a noticeable improvement in her performance in the gym. Maintaining her recent momentum, gaining muscle mass, and incorporating healthy dietary practices into her long-term regimen are her current goals.
Emily’s guidance to others considering training camps emphasises persistence, particularly through challenging periods, highlighting the substantial rewards that come with surpassing personal benchmarks.
Her results:
Body Composition:
- Body Weight – 4kg weight loss
- Muscle Mass – 0.4kg muscle mass gain
- Body Fat % – 1.9% body fat decrease
