Introducing Dave, our 24 // Training Camp Major Prize Male Winner.

For Dave, Training Camp wasn’t about starting from scratch, it was about finding his way back.
As a husband, father of three, and Area Manager for a large scaffolding company, life is busy. “I do my best to fit the gym in each week. Ideally, I’d like to train at least four days a week, but with work and other commitments, it’s sometimes only three. During the challenge, I managed to hit four days most weeks.”
During Training Camp, Dave proved that even with a full plate, progress is possible.
Here is Dave’s transformation from Training Camp:

A Journey That Sparked Change
Dave originally joined UBX over four years ago after noticing changes in his lifestyle and routine.
After transitioning from working on the tools to an office role, he found himself gaining weight and knew it was time to make a change.
From that moment, Dave committed to improving his health, and hasn’t looked back since.
Finding His Way Back
Like many, Dave’s journey hasn’t been perfectly linear.
After taking six months off to travel around Australia, getting back into routine proved challenging.
“I became a bit slack. But I genuinely missed the gym.”
Signing up for Training Camp was the reset he needed.
“The first few weeks were tough, but I’m really glad I committed – it now feels like I never left.”
Keeping It Simple (and Consistent)
Having completed several challenges before, Dave knew what worked for him, and this time, he kept things simple.
Rather than strictly following a meal plan, he focused on:
- Eating clean
- Prioritising protein
- Tracking daily calorie intake
No extremes. No overcomplication. Just consistency.
And when it came to training, the goal was clear: show up.
Even when work was busy. Even when motivation wasn’t there.
Building Momentum Again
Throughout the challenge, Dave rebuilt his routine, physically and mentally.
By committing to regular sessions each week, he regained his rhythm, confidence, and consistency in the gym.
And more importantly, he proved to himself that no matter how far off track you feel, you can always get back.
What’s Next?
Dave’s focus is simple – and sustainable.
- Train 3-4 days per week
- Stay consistent
- Keep weekend blowouts in check
For Dave, it’s about maintaining the habits that deliver results long-term.
Dave’s Advice
“Be consistent. Just show up – even on the days you don’t feel like it. Results don’t happen overnight, but if you stay consistent, they will come. And once they do, it makes all the hard work completely worth it.”
